The Annual Convention is approved for 11.75 credits, including 1.25 Ethics credits and 1.25 Elimination of Bias credits, (based on 60 minutes) by the State Bar of California. NELA certifies that the Convention conforms to the standards for approved activities prescribed by the rules and regulations of the State Bar of California governing minimum continuing legal education. NELA is an approved continuing legal education provider in California, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Vermont.
NELA is applying for accreditation in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
CLE credit is available through Approved Jurisdiction or attorney self-reporting policies in Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Hawaii, New Jersey, and New York.

All cancellations for the Convention must be submitted in writing to NELA (sorry, no exceptions). Registrants who cancel in writing on or before May 31, 2023 will receive a refund minus a $50 administrative charge. Those who cancel after this date and no-show registrants will not receive a refund, but will have access to the Convention sessions and speaker materials in an on-demand format. Questions? Bernard Alexander, III prosecutes demanding private and public sector employment cases. He has tried over sixty cases to verdict with seven- and eight-figure judgments for claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation based on gender, race, age, sex, sexual orientation, and disability, among other things. Over the last 9 months his verdicts include: (1) $3 million for a security guard terminated for “job abandonment” after he took emergency leave from work to care for his school age daughter (February 2018); (2) $5.3 million for a 25-year FedEx employee fired after not having his disability accommodated (March 2019); (3) $1.3 million for CFRA retaliation, for a 29-year employee terminated before his return from leave (April 2019); and $100,000 in a Title IX retaliation case where a Girls’ Soccer Coach complained of unequal treatment compared to boys sports (Sept 2019).
