Empowering Workers' Rights Attorneys
NELA is committed to holding an in-person Trial Boot Camp so long as it is possible within public health guidelines provided by federal health officials, the District of Columbia, and the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University.
To allow for participation by the greatest number of members in our community, up-to-date vaccination as defined by the CDC will be required. Attendees and guests at the 2022 Trial Boot Camp will be required to provide proof of up-to-date vaccination on site. This includes proof of three doses of either the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, or one dose of Johnson & Johnson, and an additional booster dose. Photos of vaccination cards with the vaccinated individual’s name clearly visible are accepted.
If you or a guest are unable to be vaccinated due to age, medical, or religious reasons, please contact Jeffrey Mittman for accommodation.
Unvaccinated individuals must:
NELA’s goal is to minimize unmasked contact in large group indoor settings while balancing a practical experience in the small group sessions and trials. Anyone’s choice to wear a mask in any setting will be respected.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear masks in all common spaces when not presenting or actively eating or drinking. Regardless of vaccination status, masks must be worn at all plenary sessions held in the Auditorium. Per Kellogg’s policy, no food may be brought into the Auditorium. Each trial team should reach a consensus on mask-wearing during workshops and small group sessions.
As of July 29, 2022, Gallaudet University is a mask-optional campus. Please keep in mind that in order to protect themselves or members of their bubble, other attendees may remain masked at all times (including at events where unmasking is allowed) and that decision will be respected.
Participants will be denied entry or asked to leave if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. NELA will have masks, hand sanitizer, and a limited supply of COVID-19 rapid tests available at the registration desk.
For questions at any time, please contact Jeffrey Mittman, NELA Executive Director, at (415) 625-5401 or jmittman@nelahq.org.
* You may wish to consider purchasing refundable fare travel tickets. For example, if Washington, D.C., were to restrict travel into the city in early October or cancel all public gatherings, we would be required to cancel or re-schedule Boot Camp at the last minute.
