  2. A View From The Bench, NELA 2018 Annual Convention
    A highly-accomplished panel of Sixth and Seventh Circuit District Court and Appellate Court judges will offer their views on best practices for employment attorneys in federal court. Topics covered will include: best practices for addressing summary judgment in employment cases; the recent changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and how those changes have impacted discovery in employment cases; and the Northern District of Illinois’ pilot discovery program in employment cases.

  4. Rebuilding The Rust Belt: Organizing Under Trump, NELA 2018 Annual Convention
    This panel will focus on forms of advocacy for employment attorneys that go beyond representing clients in the courtroom. The speakers will focus on legislative and administrative efforts that employee advocates can use to better level the playing field for their clients. In addition, the speakers will focus on the role that organized labor can (and does) play in improving the conditions for workers in the current political environment.
