  1. Your Opening Statement: Winning Over The Jury From Day 1, From NELA's 2014 Seminar: Trial Boot Camp
As counsel for the plaintiff you have the unique ability to set the tone of the trial and shape the jury’s perception of your case from the beginning. Learn from NELA’s veteran trial lawyers how to use your first five sentences to introduce your theme with “grabbers” that will resonate with the jury. Ms. Bogas and Mr. Egan demonstrate how to develop your theme and tell your story by presenting an opening statement. If you have struggled with credentialing the unlikeable client or the client that has damaging character evidence, deciding how to handle the defendant’s exculpatory evidence, or using demonstrative aids and technology in your opening statement, you will learn how to weave all of this into your opening statement while establishing credibility with the jury using ordinary words that shift the jury’s focus to the bad conduct of the defendant.

This seminar includes the following components:
    • Your Opening Statement: Winning Over The Jury From Day 1 - Audio
    • Your Opening Statement: Winning Over The Jury From Day 1 - Paper
