David G. Webbert is a partner in the Augusta firm of Johnson & Webbert, L.L.P., specializing in employment, civil rights, and complex litigation. He graduated magna cum laude from both Yale College in 1982 and Harvard Law School in 1985, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. Mr. Webbert clerked for Judge Kenneth W. Starr of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and practiced for 5 years with a leading litigation firm in D.C. He is one of only five Maine lawyers on Super Lawyers list of the Top 100 lawyers in New England. Mr. Webbert is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America and is President of the Maine Employment Lawyers Association. The Chambers USA guide to leading lawyers has listed Mr. Webbert as the top attorney for employees in Maine, describing him as “in a league of his own” for “pure courtroom horsepower” and commending his legal strategy skills: “If there is a hook to hang his case on, he will find it.” He is an elected Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, the highest recognition by colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the field of labor and employment law.
