Hal K. Gillespie is a shareholder in the law firm of Gillespie Sanford LLP in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Gillespie graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. Degree with Honors in 1969. He is a 1972 honor graduate of the University of Texas School of Law. Since 1972 Mr. Gillespie has been engaged in extensive federal and state court trial and appellate practice. From 2003 through 2016 Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazine listed Mr. Gillespie as among the top 100 attorneys in Texas. In 2011 and 2013, these publications listed Mr. Gillespie as among the top 10 attorneys in Texas. In August 2012, Texas Lawyer listed Mr. Gillespie as the top “Go-To” Lawyer in Texas in the area of Labor and Employment Law for the previous five-year period. This was Mr. Gillespie’s third consecutive such recognition (thus for a fifteen-year period, from 1997). Mr. Gillespie represents individual clients and labor unions in arbitration, mediation, civil trials, and appeals involving discharge, discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, defamation, breach of contract, and employment matters. Mr. Gillespie is the past Chairman of the Dallas Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section and a member of the NELA, TELA, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of TELA. Mr. Gillespie is a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a member of the Lawyers Coordinating Committee of the AFL-CIO, the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is Board Certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
