Herman N. (Rusty) Johnson, Jr. is a member of Wiggins, Childs, Quinn & Pantazis, LLC, which has offices in Birmingham, Alabama, and Washington, D.C. Rusty represents plaintiffs nationally in individual and aggregate action litigation, including class and collective actions, with particular emphasis on wage and hour, employment discrimination, ERISA, and international human rights litigation. He and other attorneys in his firm have successfully litigated cases on behalf of thousands of employees, including an FLSA collective action of 11,000 plaintiffs in McDermott v. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. , and a $36 million judgment after a collective action trial for 1,400 plaintiffs in Morgan v. Family Dollar Stores, Inc. Prior to joining the law firm, Rusty served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Martha Craig Daughtrey of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Honorable Myron H. Thompson of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. He earned a Juris Doctor and Master of International Affairs at Columbia University, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar at the law school.
