Daniel J. Hurson practices as The Law Offices of Daniel J. Hurson in Washington, D.C. and Annapolis, MD. He has been a trial lawyer and litigator for more than three decades, with substantial experience in white-collar criminal, securities fraud, auditor malpractice and whistleblower cases. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and Harvard Law School, and clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He has served as both an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Maryland and later as Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel for the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Hurson is a past Chairman of the Steering Committee of the District of Columbia Bar’s Committee on Corporation, Finance and Securities Law. Mr. Hurson’s comments were cited numerous times in the SEC’s explanation of its Final Rule on the Dodd-Frank whistleblower law. Mr. Hurson has written and spoken extensively on the law, and now represents whistleblo wers before the SEC as part of his securities enforcement defense practice before the SEC, DOJ and FINRA.
