Lindsay Nako is the Director of Litigation and Training for the Impact Fund, a nonprofit legal services organization that provides strategic leadership and support for impact and class litigation in the areas of civil rights, environmental justice, and poverty law. Ms. Nako has spent her career representing employees in class actions, including cases brought on behalf of employees and job applicants alleging discrimination based on race, nationality, and gender. She currently serves as class counsel in the nation-wide gender discrimination class action, Ellis v. Costco Wholesale. Before joining the Impact Fund, Ms. Nako was a shareholder at an Oakland-based plaintiff-side law firm, and also has taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. Ms. Nako was named a “Top Woman Attorney in Northern California” and “Northern California Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine and San Francisco Magazine each year from 2009 to 2015, and received the East Bay Community Law Center’s annual Attorney Award in 2012. She is a Lawyer Representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Council, and a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
