Allegra L. Fishel is Of Counsel to Outten & Golden LLP, where she now focuses her practice on disability rights and discrimination in the areas of both employment and public accommodations. Ms. Fishel has handled a wide variety of employment discrimination cases over the past twenty years, with an emphasis on disability, gender, and caregiver discrimination, including matters involving equal pay, sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination, sexual orientation discrimination, gender stereotyping, family and medical leave issues, and reasonable accommodation. Ms. Fishel has litigated cases in both state and federal court and handled both trials and appeals. She has also mediated a number of complex cases. Ms. Fishel supervises the Firm’s monthly Families @Work legal clinic cosponsored and run by A Better Balance (a not for profit which works on caregiver discrimination issues), that provides assistance to low wage earners experiencing caregiver discrimination. Ms. Fishel is admitted to the Bar of the States of New York and Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern districts of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section (Disability Rights Subcommittee), the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) (Disability Discrimination Committee), NELA's affiliate, NELA/NY (Gender Discrimination Committee), and the New York County Lawyers’ Association, where she is a pro bono arbitrator in the Association’s Fee Dispute Program.
