Claire Prestel is a Staff Attorney with Public Justice in Washington, D.C., where she represents employees and consumers and frequently litigates arbitration clause enforceability. Before joining Public Justice, Claire was an Assistant General Counsel for the Service Employees International Union and was associated with the labor and civil rights firm Altshuler Berzon LLP in San Francisco. Claire has written and spoken about defeating mandatory arbitration clauses and Iqbal motions in employment cases, and about corporate social responsibility. She graduated from Harvard Law School and clerked for Judge A. Howard Matz in the Central District of California and for Judge Betty Binns Fletcher on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
