Michael C. Harper is Professor of Law and Barreca Labor Relations Scholar at the Boston University School of Law. An honors graduate of Harvard Law School and Harvard College, Professor Harper is a leading authority on and teacher of labor law, employment discrimination law and employment law. He also teaches a popular seminar in sports law and has taught widely in the law school curriculum, including currently civil procedure. Professor Harper is the author of many law review articles and book chapters on labor and employment law topics, including several on age discrimination. He has published in a wide array of journals, including the Harvard Law Review, the Yale Law Journal, the Virginia Law Review, the Pennsylvania Law Review, and the Michigan Law Review. He also has co-authored several major casebooks, including Employment Discrimination and Employment Law and Labor Law, with Professor Sam Estreicher. Professor Harper is now serving as a Reporter for the American Law Institute’s Restatement of Employment Law. Early in his career, Professor Harper clerked for Judge J. Skelly Wright of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and served as staff attorney and director of the Student Internship Program at the Center for Law and Social Policy in Washington, D.C.
