Jennifer K. Elek is a Court Research Associate in the Research Division of the National Center for State Courts (NCSC), an independent, non-profit state court improvement organization headquartered in Williamsburg, Virginia. The NCSC conducts original research, provides technical assistance and consulting services, and delivers education to the state courts. Dr. Elek’s work includes research projects that span such topics as gender, racial, and ethnic fairness in the courts; judicial performance evaluation; judicial decision-making; offender risk and needs assessment; and problem-solving courts. Dr. Elek holds a Ph.D. in social psychology and is a graduate of Ohio University, the College of William and Mary, and Vassar College.
