Matthew C. Koski is The Employee Rights Advocacy Institute For Law & Policy’s (The Institute’s) Paul H. Tobias Attorney Fellow and a member of its National Litigation Strategy Project Task Force. In this capacity, Mr. Koski focuses on protecting workers’ rights by helping employee rights advocates combat summary judgment abuse. A significant portion of this work consists of analyzing trends in summary judgment practice in employment cases and developing resources to help employees defeat summary judgment so their cases may be heard by a jury. As a member of NELA/The Institute’s Wal-Mart Task Force, Mr. Koski monitors the effects of the Supreme Court’s 2011 decision in Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. v. Dukes and has worked with class and collective action practitioners to develop strategies for overcoming Dukes-related challenges in their cases. Mr. Koski received his B.A. from the University of California, Davis and his J.D. with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2008, where he was a member of the Roger Traynor Honor Society and the Articles Editor for the McGeorge Global Business and Development Law Journal.
