Ellen L. Eardley represents clients in civil rights, whistleblower, and wage and hour matters at the firm of Mehri & Skalet, PLLC in Washington, D.C. She regularly litigates a variety of complex employment discrimination matters and negotiates settlement agreements that provide for monetary relief as well as significant changes in the policies and practices of large corporations, including Carter v. Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, No. 1:09-CV-01752 (D.D.C.) ($32 million settlement and substantial programmatic relief). Her work also includes legislative and administrative policy, representing non-profit clients, teaching, and research. Ms. Eardley is a Professorial Lecturer at the American University Washington College of Law and teaches the course, “Sex-Based Discrimination.” Previously, she worked at the National Women’s Law Center, serving on the team of Title IX attorneys who represented female victims of sexual assault at the University of Colorado and who represented Coach Roderick Jackson in Jackson v. Birmingham Board of Education, 544 U.S. 167 (2005). Ms. Eardley earned a J.D./M.A. in Women’s Studies from the University of Cincinnati.
