David S. Golub, a partner in the Stamford, Connecticut law firm of Silver Golub & Teitell LLP, has represented plaintiffs in all forms of litigation for over thirty-five years. He was one of the first employment lawyers to use tort law theories to augment traditional contract remedies in employment disputes, obtaining a verdict in 1986 of over $10 million in a wrongful termination action based in tort against Exxon Corporation. He has represented relators in False Claims Actions and in 1994 helped secure the first recovery ever achieved by the Government of more than $100 million. He served as lead counsel in a class action obtaining pension fund increases for over 40,000 Xerox employees; served as private lead counsel for the State of Connecticut in its sovereign enforcement litigation against the tobacco industry; and currently serves as lead counsel in a class action on behalf of Connecticut’s state employee unions challenging mass layoffs ordered to coerce waiver of collective bargaining rights. Mr. Golub has taught trial practice at both Yale Law School and the University of Connecticut School of Law. He has argued cases before the United States Supreme Court, as well as in lower federal and state courts throughout the country. In December 1987, he received the National Legal Aid and Defender Association’s annual award for outstanding volunteer contributions by a private attorney to legal assistance for the poor. Mr. Golub is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School.
