Justin Gilbert obtained his law school degrees from Southern Methodist University (J.D.), 1993, and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (LL.M), 1994. With offices in Memphis, Jackson, Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee, his law firm, Gilbert Russell McWherter, PLC, handles employment discrimination suits of all types across the state. Mr. Gilbert works closely with the Tennessee NELA affiliate, TENNELA, where he wrote amicus briefs resulting in a simpler summary judgment standard for Tennessee state employment law cases, Gossett v. Tractor Supply Co., 320 S.W.3d 777 (Tenn. 2010), and rejecting the confusing motion to dismiss standard of Twombly and Iqbal in Tennessee state court. Webb v. Nashville Area Habitat, 346 S.W.3d 422 (Tenn. 2011). He lives on Signal Mountain, Tennessee with his wife, Lynda, their twin boys and two daughters.
