John W. Griffin, Jr. is a successful advocate in both trial and appellate courts. He is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, Texas Employment Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and served for three years as Chair of the American Diabetes Association Legal Advocacy Subcommittee and as a member of its Advocacy Committee. He currently serves on its National Board of Directors and Finance Committee. He is also a member of the College of The State Bar of Texas and the Texas Center for Legal Ethics. A tenacious trial lawyer, Mr. Griffin has tried more than 50 cases to a jury and serves on the Fifth Circuit Labor & Employment Law Pattern Jury Charge Advisory Committee, as well as the State Bar of Texas Pattern Jury Charges Committee (Business, Consumer and Employment). He lectures on employment law, dramshop litigation, and legal ethics. He is board certified in Civil Trial Law, Personal Injury Trial Law, and Consumer and Commercial Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Griffin is a graduate of Austin College and The University of Missouri Law School. He serves as managing partner of Marek, Griffin & Knaupp, a law firm with offices in Victoria and Port Lavaca, Texas.
