I worked with Paul closely for years (in the late 90s and early 00s) litigating two race discrimination class actions in Ohio. In that context, I got to know Paul as a legal visionary, committed social justice warrior, and one of the sweetest souls I have ever known.  Paul always made himself available to discuss legal theories, client complications, and strategic considerations.  I always felt I was in the presence of a genuinely passionate advocate who placed the client first and who was determined, even at great personal cost, to do the right thing.  We have lost a legal giant.  I will miss Paul every day for the rest of my life.
