(MPG), an education and consulting firm with offices in San Francisco and London. MPG specializes in independent workplace investigations and education in employment and compliance-related matters in the US and in Europe. A former employment attorney and long-time business school professor, Jan also regularly serves as an expert witness for both plaintiffs and defendants. She provides analysis, evaluation, and testimony in US compliance and employment litigation, including harassment and discrimination cases, workplace investigations, whistleblower, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation, privacy and other cases involving information practices, as well as business compliance and ethics management. A former Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Labor and Employment Section Committee on Employee Rights and Responsibilities, as well as its subcommittees on Workplace Privacy and Covenants Not To Compete, Jan served as Co-Chair of its Workplace Investigations Sub-Committee from its inception in 2007 to 2014. She is immediate past President of the organization for workplace investigators, the Society of Independent Workplace Investigators (SIWI). She is also a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers as well as the American Bar Foundation. Immediately following law school, Ms. Matheson served for two years as a law clerk for the Hon. Kathryn H. Vratil, U.S. District Court of the District of Kansas. In her capacity as Director of Legal Affairs for the airline, Ms. Matheson both defended and managed employment litigation across the United States. She has handled more than 200 grievance and arbitration hearings with the Airline Pilots Association, the Association of Flight Attendants, Communications Workers of America, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and the Office and Professional Employees International Union.
